Texas Switch

Rules of Play

The object of Texas Switch is to have a higher five card poker hand than the dealer. The game is played using one standard 52 card deck and offers an Ante Bonus on a player’s qualified winning hand.

  • Players must make equal wagers on the Ante and Switch bets. They may also make an optional Bonus bet.
  • Each player and the dealer receive two cards face down, and five community cards are dealt face down.
  • (Pre-Flop bet) Each player then has the following options:
  1. Check, keeping both cards and not making any new bets
  2. Raise the ante between 1 - 2x, keeping both cards
  3. Switch, by forfeiting the Switch bet and receiving two new cards. The player then has the option to check or raise the ante between 1 - 2x after receiving their new cards
  • The dealer then reveals the third community card.
  • (Turn-River bet) Each player then has the option to either raise the ante 1x, or fold, losing all wagers placed (except the Bonus bet).
  • The dealer then reveals the last two community cards (turn and river).
  • If the dealer’s hand beats the player’s hand, the player’s Ante, Pre-Flop, Post-Flop, and the Turn/River wagers are lost.
  • If the player’s hand and the dealer’s hand tie, the player’s Ante, Pre-Flop, Post-Flop, and Turn/River wagers push.
  • If the player’s hand has qualified with a Full House or better and beats the dealer’s hand, an Ante Bonus is awarded in addition to the initial Ante payout.  The Ante Bonus is paid according to the paytables below:
  • If the player did not elect to switch their initial two cards, and the dealer's hand beats the player's hand, the Switch bet is lost. Otherwise, it is pushed.
  • The optional Bonus bet is based on the player’s two hole cards and the five community cards. The seven-card hand is compared against a paytable and pays odds if the hand consists of a three-of-a-kind or better. Otherwise, the side bet is lost. The Bonus bet remains in action even if the player folds his hand.
  • The bonus is paid according to the paytable below:
